My last meal was 9 pm Friday 9/15/17. As I write, the time is 4:20 pm EST on Saturday 9/16/17.

Last night, I wanted to worship and pray in the Spirit from 2 am – 5 am, like I usually do.

I began reading the Word of God a little after 2 am. Psalm 56 caught my attention. After mediating on Psalms 56, I was impressed by the Lord to ready on how the bride of Christ is to make herself ready. The book of Esther came to mind – thanks to the Holy Spirit. At this point, the sleep that was already at the edge of my eyes became even harder to resist. I climbed my bed and took a nap. That was around 3 am.

I wasn’t in the best sleeping position. The Holy Spirit woke me up. I looked at the time and realized it was 6 am. {Heavy sigh}…not what I planned.

Quickly arising from my bed, I made my way to the bathroom. Brushed my teeth, put on my prayer dress (more like an ankle length tunic)  than went to my prayer closet to worship and pray in the Spirit.

Going before the Lord, I want to be presentable. It’s as if I was meeting some notable individual on earth, but this is my heavenly Father, my Lord Jesus – Creator of the universe.

Worship starts off well, though I’m lacking the energy.  It doesn’t take long before I’m nodding off. For the next two hours I’m nodding off for 2 seconds or so in between songs. I shake it off by raising my hands and changing positions. By 8 am, I cannot stay awake. I say my closing prayer and off to rest for an hour or two.

Early morning prayers are the hardest. I’ve been able to get through them by the grace of God. Other times, the weakness of my flesh triumphs. My next prayer time is 6 pm.

My next blog will be tonight after 6 pm expressing how my prayer session goes.
